Holy smokes, strawman much? How on earth do you derive a statement like "all the contradictions of the current conjuncture are unresolved because of Angela Merkel" from the content of this article?
How about: Angela Merkel is a ruling class thug imposing punishing immiseration upon the European periphery.
How about: the political atmosphere in Germany right now is a poisonous mixture of racism directed at Mediterranean Europe, self-congratulatory neo-liberal rhetoric about what good "savers" Germans are, a nasty chauvinism of affluence which myopically refuses to recognize that Germany's export-oriented economic success is contingent upon having the eurozone as a market, as well as the constant invocation of the perpetual German sense of victimhood at the hands of Anglo-American "finance sharks", who of course are the "real cause" of the crisis.
You know, it's possible to acknowledge all of this without making outlandish claims that "all the contradictions of the current conjuncture are unresolved because of Angela Merkel".
