Ok, but capitalism makes everything about life difficult, so what's to be gained from minimizing literacy?

You're a fan of Muhammad Ali. He was so talented verbally as to command attention without, as he himself said, being "the smartest." But his erstwhile mentor Malcolm X hit the books because that's what he thought he needed to be strong.
