Is Neoliberalism still increasing in power? True, Germany is pushing austerity in the EU, but aside from that, there's remarkably little new movement against the working class in the U.S., Europe, and East Asia. In the U.S. for example, we have a drive against public education... on the other hand, we have a mandate for health insurance, expanded Medicaid taking effect soon, and subsidized health coverage including universal women's preventive care.

A generation ago we had Reagan and Thatcher. There's no one on the horizon in the capitalist world who is as intransigently anti-worker or anti-socialist as they were. Cameron and Obama are neoliberal only in the sense that they continue the status quo.
