"The law affords people enormous leeway to use deadly force if they feel their life is seriously endangered. Sonner said Zimmerman felt "one of them was going to die that night," when he pulled the trigger. [...] " ^^^^^^^^

CB:The legal rule on self-defense for a long time has been that to assert a defense of self-defense, one must have been in REASONABLE fear of threat of death or great bodily harm to self or another person

to use deadly force. In fundamental legal discourse, "reasonable" is not just a "feeling". I don't know whether the Florida law purports to change this standard for asserting self-defense defenses to murder charges.
