Man, is that ever changing. It's increasingly becoming a scene of profit-making (via tests). And the labor conditions are more resembling a factory staffed with contingent workers every day.

Yes. And it may not be reversible. The Chicago Teachers seem to be seriously planning a strike next fall, & it will be essentially a strike against commodifcation of schooling.
In three years ISU plans to turn over certification of teachers to some testing outfit.
