*A* goal, certainly; maybe the prime goal. But you don't think there's an element of it directed against the students too? An 'education' that contains only and all the ingredients required to produce a worker who will require less training investment by the employer, and be a docile brainwashed stooge into the bargain?

One of the main themes seems to be the elimination of any pleasure in education, or any education for pleasure (learning about things that aren't required in the workplace, things that have no use but potentially much amenity).

Some fine cliches there. Should be encouraged. Too many damn people trying to be different. Coining phrases when a good platitude would do and save anxiety.
