If someone were to shoot, say 95% of the economists in the USA (leaving aside a few exceptions like Mike Yates, Mike Lebowitz, and perhaps, Sam Bowles or Herb Gintis), the world would be a better place.

I always thought of economics, as it is practiced today, as not just a distortion of reality but a deliberate attempt to use scientific procedure to cover up the truth about reality, in other words - a swindle, a con game.
