How many shooting wars is the U.S. involved in at the moment? By my count four "wholesale" wars where we directly kill large numbers of people - Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia.

How many are directly involved in at a retail level - not killing that many directly but killing a few directly? Honduras, Mexico, and so on?

How many proxy- where most of the killing is done on our behalf by others? That overlaps the retail, Honduras, Mexico, but also includes Columbia, many other nations in Latin America, ? I guess proxy wars also include nations where we did not originate the war but are supporting one side a large scale such as Israel in Palestine, Bahrain and the Philippines. (Hmm give U.S. history in the Philippines that might count as a proxy war.)

So I wonder is there anyplace where someone has put together a list of how many wars the U.S. is involved in at the moment? Not a historical list - just a list of where we are shooting people today, and w here we are supporting others in shooting people today. -- Facebook: Gar Lipow Twitter: GarLipow Solving the Climate Crisis web page: SolvingTheClimateCrisis.com Grist Blog: http://grist.org/author/gar-lipow/ Online technical reference: http://www.nohairshirts.com
