Also, for a look at just how many tensions (all unreported publicly) between the US and Israel which have arisen over intelligence/security matters , just have a look at the secret CIA study on the subject of Israel's security and intelligence services, which was "declassified" in 1982 -- courtesy of the Iranians who occupied the US Embassy in Teheran.

Well, given all the silence which still surrounds the USS Liberty mystery, the continued silence over Israel's nukes program should hardly be any surprise.
 
It must be "Israeli exceptionalism" (to coin a phrase)
