Even if you have struggled through a lot of Hegel, which I have. Doug rates her highly. I've tried and failed. I don't know whose fault that is, maybe blame it on Hegel. He's dead and very difficult, and he won't complain. Even old Chuck, I don't mean CG, complained in his day about people who treated Hegel like a dead dog. Or maybe it is because you have to take psychoanalysis more seriously than I do, and Doug takes it very seriously indeed. I read a lot of it about 30 some years ago and decided there was no there there. Freud 's German is very pretty, though; he is a powerful writer.
