[lbo-talk] public stupidity peaks after Boston bombing

I do appreciate the administration's appeal for not jumping into conclusions before the facts are known.

However, there are two already established facts that possibly point in a certain direction. First is the details about the bombs themselves - they were relatively sophisticated devices, which implies expertise of whoever made them. Second is the fact that no claims of responsibility have been made, which is unlike your typical terrorist organization. For these guys taking credit for the deed is the main goal of the whole action, so if this type of organization were behind it, a claim would almost certainly have been made. The fact that no such claim has been made points to a different type of suspect - perhaps a disgruntled ex-military person akin to the DC sniper. He would certainly have the necessary expertise and he would certainly avoid making any public claims, because this would be a trail leading to his capture.
