Not for criticizing Apple. Just to help you get your facts straight. Apple can be criticized for plenty of things, but for some reason a lot of people see only the low hanging fruits without realizing that all of them are rotten. So their critics end up not reaching the goals they had set.

Low hanging fruit again. I dare you to find the source of the Nexus 7 OS to build it and install it on your machine, even with the help of an ultra-geek. That source is not released.
