[WS:] Germany was a very polarized society at that time, which obviously led to sectarianism on all sides. Conservatives were equally sectarian, and so were social democrats. The reason why the KPD/SPD split is being mentioned is to point to the dangers of sectarianism not to "blame KPD for the nazis" which is preposterous.
