In short, the Catholic Church wanted to preserve the ´traditional western values´ as they saw it: Catholic (conservative) ´Family Values´, the same values that the Argentine Armed Forces wanted to ´preserve´ from the dangers of ´external infiltration and subversion´ according to the National Security doctrine.
