[lbo-talk] Talking about theory

I'm willing to talk about theory. But I have to admit I get very impatient when discussions devolve into what feels like context-less symbol manipulation. 

So, where do you think such a conversation should start? 

Doug just did a show with Jodi Dean, who talked about the need for a party, and Kshama Sawant, who talked about openly campaigning as a socialist in Seattle. Sawant seemed ten times more interesting than Dean. I don't think that means talking about theory is stupid, just that it's very hard to do right.
