Anyone with a serious interest in economic issues, who is willing to study and learn, and who is not ideologically rigid is welcome. Talking point that anyone can pick up from the mainstream media are not welcome unless they are discussed in depth with an emphasis on fact rather than opinion. Please do not confuse strong opinion with a fact.
Diversity of ideas is encouraged as the raw material of creativity. Well developed and documented ideas are especially encouraged if they would be new to most people.
This groups is named “Occupy Economics” in recognition of the fact that the vast majority of people with a serious interest in economics and with helpful ideas about are shut out of the main discourse venues of our society. The economic policies of the world are currently being decided by a small number of people at the heads of Politics, Media and Corporations. This not only encourages corruption and a system rigged for a tiny fraction of the population, more importantly it shuts out the creative power of 99% of the population.
