[lbo-talk] NYT article on Galeano's Open Veins

Larry Rohter, the author of this dumb article, got extremely frustrated when I refused to agree that this was a big story and would not agree that Galeano had in fact repudiated his great book. Which he did not. Rohter was a big fan of the coup against Hugo Chavez in 2002, when he (Rohter) was reporting from Venezuela. Rohter seemed both obsessed to make a story of the interview Galeano did and tone deaf to what the author said. He for all practical purposes called me an extremist when he spoke with me.
