Samaras (Orthodox) and Elizabeth II (Protestant) are Christians and their respective cults are the Established Churches of their States. The friezes from Athena's Temple are totally alien to both of them. They belong to the Goddess and Her worshippers. They are and always have been far safer in the keeping of conservation specialists in the British Museum than they would ever be in the hands of crooked bankrupt Nazi-collaborator Greek politicians or under acid rain from the polluted "blue(sic) skies of Athens." Yes, they should be returned to the Acropolis. But only as part of a total restoration of the Parthenon and its reconsecration to its true purpose: honoring the Gods through the devotion to and worship of Athena.
