There's a sense in which Reaganism is Powellism-Reaganism. Louis Powell wrote a "manifesto" as a memo that outlined and organized the ruling class action plan to reverse the mass progressive gains of the "60's". Then as Supreme Court (in)Justice he wrote the majority opinion in the case that launched the legal and political assault on affirmative action, the most advanced anti-racist program from the "60's".
