Yes, and no, History, especially history concerning Israel and Palestine remains a very contested subject. On the other hand, because of the work of the so-called "new historians" in Israel, like Benny Morris, there is greater acknowledgement of the reality of ethnic cleansings by Zionists in the 1948 war, than was the case in the past.
