New evidence that bosses are cruel, heartless shits. The great majority of 1000 business owners and senior managers surveyed by a British private medical health insurer said they did not consider elective surgery, injuries, depression, flu, back pain, migraines, anxiety, stress or the common cold to be a sufficient reason to be absent from work. 

The data showed you’re better off calling your employer and reporting in sick with the flu whenever possible before losing consciousness on the operating table or while the jaws of life are prying you from your twisted wreck.
