Yeah, when I hear people talk about how clever the ruling class are for keeping us divided I react the same. Such talk is tinfoil hat stuff. I still remember people saying how smart GW Bush was and how he was just pretending to be as thick as two short planks. No. He was as thick as two short planks. Of course you don't have to be stupid to be a member of ruling class, but it doesn't disqualify you either.
And yes, it is utterly amazing that these morons can't seem to foresee what will happen if you fail to provide enough food to feed the millions of people who flee your stupid wars and finish up in refugee camps. Its not rocket science, most of these refugee camps are not in Israel, or Nauru, so people can escape them. This is a level of stupidity that is epic.
