Canajun, eh? No sign so far of the same soul-searching and ferment within the NDP ranks as in the British and American left-centre parties - despite the party's disastrous showing in the recent federal election.

Like many social democratic parties, the NDP suffers from compulsive-repetitive disorder which causes it to double down on policies which contributed to a previous debacle - in this case, Mulcair's very unKeynesian campaign for a balanced budget.
