Gross said he did not vote for either Trump or Clinton because he did not think Clinton’s policies would be significantly more effective in boosting economic growth, redistributing income and raising the living standards of American workers.
Gross represents the faction of the capitalist class which believes, as during the Great Depression, that large-scale government intervention is needed to provide investment and jobs in a period when over-leveraged corporations decline to do so because of the lack of profitable opportunities.
He foresees working class discontent - what he calls “global populism” - as “the wave of the future, but it has taken a wrong turn in America.”
