Monbiot’s latest in the Guardian:

Despite his fears, the Canada-Europe Trade Agreement (CETA) is also probably dead in the water because of the same mass pressure forcing some European governments to reject the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).

But, as we know, while the forms may change, the dismantling of public ownership and regulation being sought by the global multinationals in the guise of trade agreements will persist, especially in services.

Waiting in the wings if TTIP and CETA are abandoned is the Trade in Services Agreement (TISA) which will allow corporations to use rigged legal mechanisms to eliminate financial, telecommunications, energy, education, and healthcare regulations or public entities which interfere with their activities in any national market governed by a trade treaty.
