Ronan Bennett has a good piece in Friday’s Guardian on what constitutes leadership, with direct reference to Jeremy Corbyn - vilified by his enemies in the Labour Party and the media as a “weak leader” as against careerist preppies like Blair and Cameron, hailed as tough-minded for launching attacks against the poor and powerless at home and abroad.

Bennett is himself an interesting figure: ex-Provisional IRA who was jailed in Long Kesh, got a Phd in history. was briefly a researcher for Corbyn, and is now an internationally acclaimed novelist.
