There is a very loose network of credible Americans who are exploring the whole question of corporations, law and democracy---the Program on Corporations, Law and Democracy(POCLAD) is the name of this organization.
Doug has mentioned Richard Grossman occasionally; Grossman has been the #1 sparkplug in trying to bring people with similar questions about corporations together. Grossman has done some excellent research on corporations and has written some very interesting things about them. Grossman is not pushing any particular solutions, as Doug has mentioned. I think this is a good idea. Let the people decide, and, give them the tools to make an informed decision.
Among others involved are a group of women attorneys in Wisconsin, environmentalists with a printing press in Maryland, organized labor and politicians in Ohio etc..A very interesting and eclectic assortment of people and ideas.
Sincerely, Tom
