alot of my students seem to have both -- they are status symbols. when they go off in class, the first one, the first time, (and this happens every semester) i confiscate the offending telemetry and inform the class that if anyone elses' goes off they will be suspended. seems to work, the darn things only go off once per class.

i haven't gotten enough guts to say something like; "what's wrong dear, don't you enjoy the silent vibrator sensation?" though i know this would probably have the same effect as confiscation, with suitable embarrassment attached -- the young are soooooo easily embarrassed.
