Yes, the same Europeans have brought us nuclear weapons to replace the acorns. Of course,it wasn't done as a "trade". The indigenous people were annihilated and herded into concentration camps. Their impoverishment has kept access to Eurpean-derived technology to the minimum. Rather than trade or exchange there was plunder and takeover. There was no meeting of the minds as required in a contract or trade.

You may not care that your wife doesn't spend her life painfully processing acorns to make acorn mush, but I'm glad mine doesn't have to...
