60% vs 90% European trade

There was some debate about this number.   If memory
serves, 90% of all EC trade is "domestic" using the
expanded definition of the term.  But, taking into
account *foreign trade only*, based on the pre-EC
notion, 60% of the statistical "foreign trade" would
become "domestic trade" after the common currency goes
into effect.
