Brian Wilson was a manic-depressive. He was brilliant in the same way Lennon/Macartney were i.e. writer of clever little pop dittiess. I think he stayed in bed for 7 years or something like that. His brother and fellow Beach Boy, Dennis Wilson used to bring him bags of Mccdonald's cheeseburgers in return for his latest songs. The clever little Canadian band "The Barenaked Ladies" have a neat little song about Brian Wilson. I was in a used record store once and this guy came up to me and started asking questions about jazz music. I talked to him for quite a while and he said he played in a group called "The Bare Naked Ladies", I thought it was a punk band or something but it turned later that he and has comrades had won grammy awards. Wilson was the Beach Boys.
