For the record, the document Louis P. has been quoting is a position paper
(prepared I think by Stokely Carmichael) prepared in support of a motion to
expel white staffers from SNCC. The motion passed by a vote of 19-18, with
25 abstentions (all white staffers abstained). Not exactly a landslide. Many
local SNCC houses in the South simply ignored this directive from the Grand
Urban Poobahs and continued functioning as integrated organizations.
