Hey, Brad, while we are counting bodies, what do you think of Michel
Chossudovsky's analysis of "structural adjustment as conducive to a form of
economic genocide." See his Globalization of Poverty: Impacts of the IMF
and World Bank Reforms (Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey: Zed Books, 1997),
highly recommended by Noam Chomsky. Chossudovsky doesn't seem so impressed
with the Washington based international bureaucracy of the IMF and WB which
as been "entrusted with by international creditors and multinational
corporations with the execution of a global economic design which affects
the livlihood of more than 80% of the world's population". At any rate, the
on-going subsumption of those old Stalinist regimes under the new
Washington consensus hasn't much stopped the death march, has it?
