Don't know about armed forces in particular, but I do know that "education institution" pricing for MS products is a fraction of what is charged retail. But military procurment is a strange beast; only those who know, know for sure.
BTW, I'm a longtime subscriber to LBO, and I've been a lurker on the list for awhile now. Its interesting to see just how far down the slippery slope my "intellectualism" has gone since I was involved in countering the Gulf War. Years ago I was up on all this stuff; today I have to work to even understand it. Just goes to show you what workin' for da man and doin the family thang'll do to ya.
But I'm still enjoying what I do read. I couldn't resist responding here because computers and stuff are such a large part of my life.
