Right. Keynes made him spend all that money on bombs. The dead hand of the economists, you know, as K said himself. R would have had it charged with extortion and mind control, but Hades wouldn't extradite.
The "We are all x's now" was, I think, started by the Tory PM Harold MacMillan, who said in the early 60s, We are all Socialists now.
Btw, given all the discussion about the bilingual ed vote, I shouold have thought there would some more talka bout the union dues vote.
I heard the following report on NPR yesterday: One reporter says, Voters defeated this measure, which would have prevented uni9ons from spending dues money on politics without their permission. One would have thought that this is sojmething that even union member would support. John, what's going on?
John (or whatever his name is). The unions managed to create worries that this would harm United Way and other charitable giving. It's almost certainly not true, but the unions kicked enough sand into people's eyes to defeat the measure.
I am not kidding. This is a very close paraphrase. I reported this to my daughter, age 8, and asked her what kind of report that was. She said--without prompting--an "anti-union report." I bit my tongue to keep from saying, No shit.
You cannot bribe or twist Thank God! The British journalist But given what he'll unbribed do There isn't any reason to.
