there was a four-part nyt times story on the affects of ny's welfare reform
a month back or so. in the last installment, they mention that the guliani
adminstration has refused to release #s. the most widely cited results from
the study that has been done said that less than 30% of the folks who have
been forced off of welfare find employment. (you only had to make $100 in
three months to count as employed).
