This topic is one that has always interested me: how do you keep the
economic advantages of the large corporation, while opening them up to
more democratic control? Let's take a real monster, say General Motors.
You wave your magic wand and eliminate all external shareholders and
give all stock to employees, with equal voting rights. How would you
organize it? Would you have the same basic organization, with regular
systemwide elections for officers, or would you adopt a more radical,
factory-by-factory model?
