I guess I am mistaken, then, to simply think of anyone who has to work for a living and has little to no real power over their work or their lives, and few if any means of bettering their situation by their own efforts, as working class, regardless of their gender, color, or sexual orientation. But I would like to know how it is that European- American males are to be dubbed "scabs". How is their behavior any more scablike than anyone else's in this brutally competitive society?

You are absolutely right that the left's most crucial task at present is to reach working folk, men and women, of all colors. I would suggest that calling a sizable minority of these people "scabs" is not going to be helpful.
