Ruling class and affirmative action

It is not a case of the ruling class actively espousing affirmative action,
but in fact it was a compromise they had a central role in crafting, and
they're not interested in upsetting the apple cart. Similarly, most
corporations are anti-union, but they are keeping out of the fight over
Proposition 226, the anti-union measure on the California ballot next week.
Only the California Restaurant Association, infuriated over having to pay
their employees $5.75 per hour because of a union-initiated raise in the
minimum wage, is campaigning for 226. Most corporations want peace and profits.
