Eisenhwoer was a pseudo-dork. He ranks among the shrewdest Presidents, but he understood, and had sufficient control of his ego, that dorks do not get questioned very closely. His famous "military-industrial" speech, made in response to Kennedy's campaign success from accusing him of treason, demonstrates his undorky side.
