Yes, this is the stereotype from folks who never read Adorno closely, or ran across a bad translation of Negative Dialectics and assumed that Theo was just another mealy-mouthed Hegelian quack. But it just ain't so. Also check out some of Adorno's essays, e.g. "On Progress", full of powerful, very provocative readings of the whole dialectics of progress and regress. Great ammunition against New Labour.
