What is the agenda of Livingston, Armey, Gramm, Largent, and other "conservative" members of the Theme Team? First, a hobbled Federal Government (they have shut it down twice), then a return to "separate, but equal," and then on to pre-Bellum forms of chattel slavery. What is Livingston's relationship to the KKK in Louisiana? What are states rights for southern local politicos, but an attempt to return to nullification of federal laws, especially on race issues, chain-gangs, prison labor, death penalty politics, and so forth? Their racialist plague has even spread north into states like Wisconsin and Michigan. The KKK has increased its presence in Wisconsin and supported Tinpot Tommy Thompson for governor. These guys want to raise the rebel war-hoop in congress and refight the Civil War, because they don't think they should have lost the first time around. That's what being a reactionary from the US south means when taken to its logical conclusion. How is this going to be solved by peaceful methods? What is a Bull Connor going to do if he and his henchmen return to political power? We'll have to fight the Civil War over again, but this time in its most virulent form, Class War.
