Hedge fund fallout & Other Merry Weather

Re Jason's comment below: As I said, my take was entirely superficial -- was responding mainly to the abundance of gun shops and fundamentalist churches in the area, as well as the military presence there ... though, arguably, the latter is less alarming than the NYPD often seems these days. Anyway, even w/o the hurricane, I felt little inclination to linger in the area. Maybe if I'd had a chance actually to hear some blues on-site I'd have felt differently. (This puts me two over the posting limit for the day -- hope the LBO police don't seize my keyboard.)

Hey Carl,

Does that pertain to both black and white folks? My impression is that most of the great blues players came from Miss, Ala, Georgia - I suspect that those people were a bit left of your average white person. The strange thing was that a lot of the 60s-70s white rockers who came from the Fla-Georgia area probably (at least in their music) had a little more respect for blacks - probably because they knew where they were taking their riffs from!
