Noted. I'm not pleased with the LP's general timidity about "cultural" issues. Mazzocchi defends this by saying that his members wear LP buttons on one lapel and Buchanan buttons on the other. And he points out that the opening of hunting season is often a holiday in contracts covering the union he used to be a VP of, the one formerly known as the Oil, Chemical, and Atomic Workers Union.
But despite coming out of that union - or because of it - Mazzocchi has taken some very nervy positions on ecological matters. He's way ahead of most unionists there. The Mine Workers, for example, has a position on global warming that's browner than Ford's.
