Who Killed Vincent Chin? (was Barkley on WTO, etc)

Naw, Tom, as I recall it was pretty clear that Vincent Chin was attacked because he was Asian. The killer "thought" he was Japanese, I believe. The largest sentence was for a federal civil rights violation, not the manslaughter.

The autoworkers and their unions never directed much at the auto companies who were moving plants overseas. A lot of "foreign" cars were made by companies in which the Big Three had large ownership.  The UAW avoided their real fight with the real culprits, the Big Three, and scapegoated "foreigners" and "foreigness".

C'mon Rakesh, an Ivy Leaguer and man of the world like yourself knows damn well
what I'm talking about--it could have been anyone including some smart ass Ivy
League yuppie driving a beemer or other foreign car.  Would that make it
justifiable, no not in my opinion.
