Only half way through this, so far, Nussbaum isn't as critical of sex radical Warner as her review of Judith Butler, would have made me expect. Fourth paragraph cites Richard Posner's, "Sex and Reason." Andrew Sullivan, the "Gay, Tory, Catholic," ex-editor of TNR, probably would've gotten gay neo-con lit crit, Bruce Bawer, to slam Warner.
Next review, return to more standard TNR fare: Ron Radosh on the new biography of "Tail Gunner" Joe McCarthy. Surprise, Ron does the Sidney Hook "McCarthy discredited us reasonable liberal anti-communists. Don't want to reopen thread on "espionage" of the last month, but for those who can't get enough, the website of the Boston public radio show called "The Connection" with Chris Lydon, http://wbur.org/connection/index.shtml (Missed todays show, Richard Lourie, the novelist and translator was on talking about his new novel on Joseph Stalin, you know what I'm listening to after the KPFA/Pacifica news is over!) recently had the author of the new bio (looks like hagiography) and Vic Nasasky and Ellen Schrecker hashing over Hiss, Bentley and Chambers, et. al. (almost sounds like a legal firm)
