Serbia

Dear Jim,

I don't have any financial self interest in the Serbian situation, nor, do any Americans of Serbian extraction that I know of have anything to gain financially by any outcomes in Serbia.

In Ohio the two biggest politicians of Yugoslavian background are George Voinovich and Dennis Kasich. Both are rather conservative Republicans of the smoother northern variety. Kasich is a second or third generation Croatian. Voinovich claims second generation Slovenian, although, the -ovich is usually a Serbian moniker. Where as -ich is generally a Croatian moniker. Voinovich and Kasich are both Roman Catholics---Kasich maybe on the outs with the Pope over a divorce. You should contrast this with the predominantly Orthodox Serbs.

I doubt if Voinovich or Kasich will loose any sleep over bombing the Orthodox Serbians, unless we bomb an Orthodox church that recognizes the Pope.

Your email pal,

Tom L.
