Vampires used to be queer (implicitly in most representations, explicitly in _Hunger_ and _Daughters of Darkness_, for instance), but what about now?
With regard to the race of vampires, Richard Dyer says that in horror movies whiteness more or less equals death (and the object of horror). Morrison should also agree with Dyer, given her wonderfully perceptive comments on the terror of whiteness in _Moby Dick_ and _The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym_.
