what are the chances that all of the network affilitiates tell PacMan to go to hell and sign up with the Starting over crew? what are the chances of getting the priceless archives? what about all of the talent that is not at KPFA, but spread through the country?
these are some big what if's and should only be the last resort.

My reply:
I agree that the risks of a such a start-over strategy are huge. My point is that the strategic thinking is all-important. All significant social change involves risk. Why should people who promote social change be risk-averse?
The status quo is very risky. What about the risks of a protracted struggle for control of Pacifica fraught with negativity, name-calling, litigation, arrests and alienation of actual and potential listeners? What are the relative costs and benefits of a postive, enthusiastic campaign to gather stronger and more effective community involvement in a new enterprise?
