My guess: They're about to slit labor's throat, and neither she nor Rubin was sleazy enough to go along. Bummer.

On the other hand, they'll never get rid of Social Security if they let the market crash.

But then, on that third hand, if they crash the market and then raise it from the grave ala '87, that really will turn all the hotshots against Social Security.

So I guess the real question is: just how evil are they?
